How can you encourage the achievement of the "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals?" As an individual, here are some suggestions for January's efforts to achieve goal #4 - Quality Education.

Individual Ideas
● Use social media to share items available from the UN: o UN.org/sustainabledevelopment/education/ o en.unesco.org/commemorations/educationday
o Use Sigma’s handles and hashtags to share your work with the Sigma community. Examples include @SigmaNursing, #WeAreSigmaNurses, and #SigmaGlobal
● Donate your used books. The easiest way to give access to knowledge is to donate your used books to someone. (This is my personal goal this month.)
● Promote and take free online courses. In a digital world, there are more opportunities to get access to education than just going to university.
● Mentor young people. You can provide tutoring and homework assistance, teach a language, or deliver a lesson on the global goals.
● Read a book highlighting the fight for education equality such as I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai.
● Learn more about graduate education opportunities and their differences (MSN, APRN, DNP, PhD) and how to select the one that’s best for you.
